Demeter Garden Goddess

This golden Goddess will bring you her gifts of abundance and plenty. Grain weaves across her yellow body and a braided circle of gold rings her arms symbolizing the endless cycle of sowing and reaping that ties all life together.

Made of double thick glass, our Harvest Goddess is ready to hang either on a shepherds hook or from a chain.

     Demeter taught agriculture and law to the Greeks. When her daughter was taken to the underworld, Demeter afflicted the land, allowing nothing to grow until the gods relented. Half the year Persephone would return home, spring and summer would reflect their joy. In fall and winter the underworld claims Persephone and all growing things die. Thus Demeter symbolizes abundance, sorrow and a mother's love.

     Demeter is attuned to the growing, maturing and changing of life and nature all around her. She provides a guiding hand through growing pains, both physical and spiritual. She symbolizes the abundance of spirit that comes naturally with maturity and the fullness of time.
